With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, octagonal breech (drilled with a hole on the top flat, touch-hole filled) engraved 'London' on the top flat and with a line of beadwork at the rear, grooved engraved tang, associated signed flat bevelled lock (some pitting), figured full stock (numerous repairs) carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, border engraved brass mounts comprising pierced ribbon side-plate, butt-plate decorated with a rocaille and foliage on the tang, trigger-guard with acorn finial and engraved with a flower-head on the bow, turned brass ramrod-pipes, vacant brass escutcheon, and later brass-tipped ramrod, private Birmingham proof marks, maker's mark of Thomas Ketland
