With earlier two-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, the breech signed 'Barbar London' in front of a panel of foliage, and with threaded nipple-bolster, engraved tang, signed foliate engraved back-action lock (hammer nose incomplete), figured full stock (repaired above the lock at the tang, fore-end split) with chequered grip, earlier border engraved brass mounts comprising butt-plate decorated with a foliate rocaille on the heel tang, trigger-guard with a flower-head on the bow, and brass-tipped ramrod, Tower private proof marks
