A Flintlock Blunderbuss
Early 19th Century, Probably Irish
With russet barrel flared at the muzzle and struck with Co. Carlow registration mark 'CW 1922' at the breech, plain tang, rounded lock (tail partly filed off, one side-nail missing, the other replaced), figured full stock with pineapple chequered grip, brass mounts comprising butt-plate naively engraved with a gundog and a gamebird on the heel tang, trigger-guard engraved with a flower-head on the bow, and brass ramrod-pipe (ramrod missing, barrel and lock with some pitting overall)
