With recoloured sighted barrels engraved 'Deakin & Johnson Patent Solid Steel Homogeneous Barrels' (worn, some pitting) along the rib at the breeches, breeches engraved with foliate scrollwork between and each with a platinum plug, foliate scroll engraved tang with swept fences, signed border engraved flat locks decorated with scrolling foliage, rounded dolphin hammers en suite, figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end (chipped along each side), foliate scroll engraved iron mounts (rust patinated) comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon engraved with owner's initials 'RSD' in gothic letters, and original brass-mounted ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
