A 32-Bore German Wheel-Lock Holster Pistol
Mid-17th Century
With octagonal barrel struck on the left flat at the breech with a maker's mark, a bird, the initials 'SN' (?) above, and on the top flat with a further Suhl maker's mark (Neue Støckel 2423), plain tang retained by a screw from beneath, flat bevelled lock with pointed tail, struck with the same Suhl maker's mark and secured by three screws each with white horn washer (one incomplete), flat external wheel with a hook at its base, cock-bridle secured from the outside, and manually operated sliding pan-cover, ash full stock carved with converging flutes behind the barrel tang and with an iron band around the ovoidal pommel, iron trigger-guard (retaining screw replaced), iron fore-end band, and single replacement ramrod-pipe (ramrod missing)
