With cannon barrels each with muzzle-ring, rifled with eight grooves and fitted with a retaining link, octagonal breeches becoming polygonal, each engraved with foliage and struck with spurious maker's mark of John 1 Tarles, foliate engraved tangs, signed border engraved rounded locks decorated with foliage, rounded cocks decorated en suite, moulded figured half-stocks, iron mounts comprising pierced and engraved serpentine side-plates, shaped foliate engraved escutcheons, fluted pommels with foliate engraved spurs, engraved trigger-plates also forming the hinge for the retaining links, and trigger-guards each with engraved foliate finials and raised oval on the bow, the iron parts artificially aged overall (2)
