The first naïvely carved in the round as a gundog's head with glass eyes, drooping ears and notched collar, and rounded mouthpiece with ebony plug; the second realistically carved in the round as a fox's head with gilt eyes and bared teeth pierced for suspension, the rounded mouth-piece incised with a horseshoe crossed with a riding-crop (2)
