Other artists who exhibited at Devambez included Cassatt, Renoir, Signac, Dufy, Vlaminck, Matisse, Braque, Modigliani, Foujita, de Chirico and Picasso. There are nine works by Andre Devambez in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris and he was invited to paint decorative panels for the new French embassy in Vienna. He was Professor of Fine Arts and a member of the Institut de France from 1930 onwards. One of his artistic trademarks was the production of small paintings on panel such as this, which were known as Les Tout-Petits.
