We are grateful to Jaap Bolten for confirming the attribution to Abraham Bloemaert on the basis of a photograph. Mr Bolten dates the drawing to later in Bloemaert's career and suggests that it is a larger version of a drawing in Brussels, which he also believes to be by the same hand, upon photographic inspection (see: J. Bolten, The Drawings of Abraham Bloemaert, circa 1565-1651 (Leiden, 2007), vol. I, cat. no. 127).
