Set design for Don Juan relates to one of two plays by Ronald Duncan (the other being The Death of Satan) that the Royal Court had sought Minton's help with at the last minute after the designer Malcolm Pride was stranded abroad. The first performance took place on 15 May 1956 and was directed by George Devine, with whom Minton got on very well.
