Footnotes

  • This artwork is reproduced on the rear cover of the 1938 Castrol Achievements booklet, which contains an account by Daniell of the race and images of him on the Norton during the event.

Moser, a German-born artist came to study in England during the early 1930s. As political problems in his homeland worsened he remained in England until after hostilities ceased. Some of his most notable works were the evocative illustrations for the covers of "Speed" Magazine during the late 1930s, but very few of his original artworks seem to have survived.
