1977 Honda 49cc Amigo II Moped
Registration no. PCE 539R
Frame no. 38357
Engine no. 18277
Having conquered the world during the 1960s by producing millions of 'step-thru' mopeds based on it original C100 Super Cub of 1958, Honda greatly expanded its range of this type of machine during the 1970s, offering a bewildering variety of models catering for every taste. Previously firm believers in four-stroke engine technology, the company at last turned to the cheaper two-stroke for its moped range, commencing with the Amigo II (the first Amigo was a four-stroke), which was a simple to use, 'twist-'n-go' model with single gear and an automatic clutch. This example has had only one registered owner from new: the late Sir Bryan Matthews, emeritus professor of physiology at Cambridge and director of the Royal Air Force physiological laboratories. 'PCE 539R' had covered very few miles and was in good running order when it was acquired by the current owner circa ten years ago, since when it has been in storage. The machine comes with old-style Swansea V5 document and is sold strictly as viewed. No reserve.
Sold for £207 inc. premium
