A close relative of the Lodola, the Stornello (starling) debuted at the Milan Show in December 1959 powered by a 124cc overhead-valve engine inclined in a twin-downtube frame. A Sport version, equipped with a totally different cylinder head and larger carburettor, followed in 1961. Motor Cycle tested a Stornello Sport in its 14th December 1961 issue, finding that the little Guzzi had ample punch and thoroughbred handling. Registered in Italy up to 1985, this rare Stornello Sport was in restored condition when purchased in 2002, undergoing further restoration between then and 2007, since when it has been SORN'd. Refurbishment has included completely renovating the fuel tank, re-covering the seat and fitting new shock absorbers, tyres, battery and steering head bearings. Used by the vendor on local classic motorcycle runs, this beautiful Italian lightweight is offered with spare transfers, technical booklet, dating certificate, sundry restoration invoices and Swansea V5.
