  • The 1966 race season saw Hailwood's first year riding on Works Hondas, and one of the most successful seasons of his racing career, becoming World Champion in 250cc and 350cc classes including 10 Grand Prix victories out of 12 races at 250cc beating Phil Read on Works Yamaha and Jim Redman on Honda into 2nd and 3rd places and 6 Grand Prix victories in the 350cc class pushing Agostini into 2nd place, all in addition to his two Isle of Man TT wins at 500cc and the 250cc Lightweight event, the trophy and sash of which is offered here.
