A partial set of tosei gusoku armour
Late Edo period
Laced in blue with the components of iron or lacquered black and comprising an iron suji kabuto (helmet) of fifty-six plates and of Goshozan type with a five-lame shikoro; menpo lacquered black an applied with an animal-hair mustache and fitted with a four-lame yodarekake; the curiass an iron nuinobe do and sode; six sections of four-lame black lacquered kusazuri (spearated from cuirass); chain-mail iyo haidate and kote with tekko lacquered black; matching tsutsu suneate); with armour box (wear).
