c.1980 Knight-Honda CR250 Flat-Track Racing Motorcycle
Engine no. ME03E
Master frame-maker Terry Knight worked in Doug Schwerma's shop before setting up on his own. He was a long-time associate of Harley-Davidson works rider Mert Lawill, collaborating on various projects including building frames for Mert's XR750 flat-track racers and also for some of the earliest mountain bikes when they first became popular in the 1980s. Previously raced by Tom du Pont, this machine is recalled by Lex as a 'factory bike' so further research into its early history may well prove rewarding. The letters 'BT' are stamped on the engine, thought to be a reference to well-respected flat track racer, the late Brad Taylor. Sold on a bill of sale.
- Please note that the frame number for this bike is BT72.
