Tibeto-Chinese, 17th/18th century
Following the classic Indian Pala conventions this popular aspect of Avalokitesvara stands in the graceful triple bent position or tribhanha. His dhoti is finely incised with floral form and highlighted delicate gold and silver blossoms.
