Three manuscript covers
Tibet, 13th-14th century
Two carved with a central treasure vase supporting flowers and vines that flow into three rows of finely carved scrolling forms and framed within lotus leaf borders. One painted on the reverse with four rows of tathagatas painted in gold against a red ground. The third manuscript cover is carved with Prajnaparamita at the center flanked by Shakyamuni Buddha and Vairocana, each enthroned and divided by diminutive tathagatas, bodhisattvas and scrolling forms and framed by a lotus leaf border.
