A copper alloy repoussé panel of a bodhisattva
Nepal, 16th/17th century
The kneeling four-armed bodhisattva adorned with an elaborate crown and jewelry raises a cakra in his upper right hand and supports the foot of a bird, possibly Garuda, on his left hip. A section of a makara-like scaled body emerges on the lower left side and scrolling forms surround the figure.
