Flown United States flag, silk, 4 x 6 inches. Mounted on a color 12 x 10 inch NASA certificate which reads: "This flag traveled to the Moon with Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing, July 20, 1969. ARMSTRONG – COLLINS – ALDRIN."
The certificate has the large crew mission emblem of an eagle flying low over the lunar surface and carrying an olive branch. The bottom edge has the first words by Neil Armstrong after stepping onto the Moon: "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."
