WHAT'S LONGER THAN HIS WHITE SCARF?
Color photograph, 8 x 10 inches. A grinning Wally Schirra wearing his aviator sunglasses arrives in style for a photo shoot driving a Corvette. With a typed letter on Wally Schirra's personal letter head with special WSM vertical watermark.
Provenance letter by WALLY SCHIRRA reads: "Enclosed with this note is a color 8 by 10 inch photograph of me arriving at a photo shoot in green Corvette wearing my military aviator sunglasses. I have had this photo ever since the day my crew and I crew posed for pictures prior to our Apollo 7 launch in October 1968. We were all wearing white scarves for that macho fighter pilot look with our NASA aircraft flight suits. We were exchanging a few jokes that day and I was getting ribbed about the length of my scarf. In response, I basically said that only 'well hung fighter pilots' were allow to wear such long scarves thus the reason for the inscription I wrote and then signed my name on this photograph."
Photograph INSCRIBED and SIGNED by WALLY SCHIRRA: "A Well Hung Fighter Pilot! Wally Schirra."
