Introduced in 1962 with serial number 119000, the Reference 3448 with 27-460 Q perpetual calendar movement was in production until 1981. Purportedly, only 586 examples were made, the majority in yellow gold with only a few in white gold and platinum. The subtly sophisticated appearance and easy readability places this limited production reference as one of the more desirable classic complications from the Patek Philippe manufacture. Earlier production of the Reference 3448 housed the celebrated caliber 27-460, regarded by Patek Philippe aficionados as one of the most sophisticated automatic perpetual calendar movements ever made. This present lot contains the upgraded caliber 27-460Q, with the perpetual calendar mechanism fitted on the movement plate.
