Footnotes

  • The current teapot and cover is discussed, by Paul Moss, The Literati Mode, Sydney L. Moss Ltd., London, 1986, p.235, where it is compared to a similar teapot and cover, illustrated ibid, pl. 108. The illustrated example lacks the metal mounts, but is incised with the same two-character signature 'si ting'. Reference is made to the ongoing discussion as to whether this signature refers to the scholar Wu Xiu, or is the art name of Hui Mengchen.
