An Yixing stoneware brushpot

Republican period
Of tall rectangular section, boldly engraved on two of the sides with a mountainous landscape scene and a flowering branch, the other two sides with inscriptions, the underside impressed with an elaborate seal comprised of an archaic bronze ding and six-character inscription within a circle, the stoneware of a rich beige mottled with black flecks.
14.5cm high.

The elaborate 'ding'-shaped seal is identified as the registered trademark of the 'wudesheng' studio of Yixing stonewares owned by Wu Hanwen in Dingshu, Yixing during the early Republican period. Other renowned teapot masters who worked in the studio include Hu Yaoting, Yu Guoliang, Yan Ru and Feng Guilin.

民國段泥刻花方筆筒

「墨苑花叢，雲水行淶。」

筆筒成方形邊角帶節，一面刻上山水風景，以細碎的點刻描繪山林樹影；一面刻上夾竹桃，刻工爽快明朗，另外兩面分別刻上文字行書「墨苑花叢，雲水行淶。」及「甲子春仲三月跂陶主人並刻」。筆筒底部刻有楷書「金鼎商標」及篆文「德盛」商印。泥質充滿手感，整體感覺雅致。

吳德盛，為民國初期宜興丁蜀鎮人吳漢文開設陶器店鋪名，為當時專營紫砂的唯一商號。其註冊商標為「金鼎」，為圓章設計，中置一鼎，鼎身有篆書「德盛」二字，四角刻「金鼎商標」四字楷書。主要產品包括茗壺、茶杯、茶具、文房等，以國畫、書法刻畫裝飾，風格突出。其傳世品中，一般都署有「跂陶」款。當時為吳德盛製作紫砂坯件的還有俞國良、岩如、馮桂林等名師。
