Footnotes

  • The Twelve metre class was designed under the International Rule, first introduced in 1907. Miquette was built to the third manifestation of the rule, designed and constructed by William Fife at Fairlie and launched in 1934 for her first owner R.S.Grigg, who based her at Greenock. She still survives today and is currently for sale awaiting extensive restoration.

Benzie specialised in finely crafted models of racing yachts in the 1930's, generally made for the owners although occasionally offered as prizes.
