The circular medal, designed by Nikephoros Lytras (1832-1904), depicting Nike, the Goddess of victory, seated and holding a laurel wreath over a phoenix emerging from flames with the Acropolis in the background, to the reverse with "International Olympic Games, Athens 1906", 50mm. in diameter
