A documentary Meissen Hausmaler saucer, circa 1740
Painted in the workshop of Johann Friedrich Metzsch in Bayreuth, a flower spray in the centre and a border of stylised flower heads and scrolls with floral swags around the gilt-edged rim, the reverse inscribed in blue enamel 'M/ Bayr.', crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed numeral
