A Meissen saucer, circa 1725-30
Painted with a chinoiserie scene depicting an exotic figure wearing an Indian headdress, holding various utensils, standing on a grassy ground flanked by a sprouting bush and fence, within a Böttger lustre cartouche picked out in iron red scrollwork under a gilt scrollwork border, the reverse with three concentric iron red bands, 12.8cm diam, incised x to the inside of the footrim, gilders mark '7.' (some rubbing)
