A pair of Meissen yellow-ground teabowls and saucers, circa 1740
Each painted in Schwarzlot with Kauffahrtei scenes depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside and one scene of a ship foundering on rocks, reserved on a shaped quatrelobe panel on each side of the teabowls and within concentric circles on the inside, gilt-edged rims, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, impressed numerals, painter's mark 7 (4)
