A pair of South Italian salts and a similar large salt, late 17th century
The large salt modelled with a central salt with a female portrait surrounded by four smaller shell-shaped wells, supported by two lions and two sphinxes, seated on a concave four-sided stand on four claw feet, the smaller salts with rocaille-moulded triangular shapes set with a single sunburst and a flower, supported by various organic scrolls, the base raised on three claw feet and set with three shell wells each, 10.5cm high and 17.5cm high (restoration to the feet of the larger salt) (3)
