Two Italian figural salts, late 17th century
Probably Southern Italian, possibly Naples, both of a similar shape with three putti supporting a central bowl with a wide rim, seated on a triangular base on four claw feet, the coloured salt with W or M in a sunray to the inside of the well, the figures holding a small additional shell-shaped bowl each, the white and blue salt with a Portuguese style-decoration of a hare in a naturalistic landscape and floral sprays, the well with a large bird with spread wings, each 15cm high (minor typical losses to the coloured salt, the blue salt with some restoration to the feet and figures) (2)
