A Meissen monkey band figure of a bassoonist, third quarter 18th century
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, wearing a puce soft hat with feathers, lavender jacket, green waistcoat and yellow breeches, the base moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork and applied with leaves and flowers, 14.5cm high, faint crossed swords mark in blue (minor loss to mouthpiece of instrument only)
