A Meissen part tea service, circa 1740
Each piece painted in Kakiemon style with flowering branches issuing from stylised rockwork and insects overhead, brown-edged rims, the animal spout and wishbone handle of the teapot edged in gilding, the sugar bowl cover with a flowering branch finial, comprising:
a teapot and cover (10cm high);
a sugar bowl and cover (12.5cm high);
a large lobed bowl (23.6cm across);
two cups and saucers (the cups: 6.7cm high; the saucers: 13cm diam.), crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, impressed numerals (9)
