A Meissen chocolate beaker and saucer, circa 1730
Painted in Imari style in underglaze-blue, enamels and gilding with the 'Tischchen' pattern of flowering plants issuing from a table, the rims with trellis band reserved with flower-heads, the ear-shaped handle embellished in gilding, the beaker: 7.2cm high; the saucer: 12.5cm diam., crossed swords marks and indistinct mark in underglaze-blue, impressed Former's mark inside footrim of saucer (2)
