A good Worcester sauceboat, circa 1755-56
Of curving cos lettuce shape with a looping stalk handle, the handle terminal moulded as six leaves picked out in puce and green, the body unusually left plain without leaf moulding and instead embossed with two foliate cartouches enamelled with the 'Staghunt' pattern, a butterfly painted on an embossed leaf beneath the lip, with a band of moulded leaves and flowerheads to the outside edge of the rim which is edged with a brown line, 21.8cm long
