A fine English enamel tea caddy and inner cover, circa 1770
Birmingham or South Staffordshire, of oval form with fine quality gilt metal mounts and key escutcheon, the chamfered and hinged cover with gilt metal scrolled handle, the inner enamel cover with an acorn finial, painted with birds with brightly coloured plumage, some in flight and others perched amongst flowers, including honeysuckle, iris and passionflower, further scattered sprays and sprigs around them, the interior lined with tinplate, 15cm high (a few fine cracks) (2)
