A rare inscribed pearlware novelty pipe, dated 1808
Probably Swansea, the central section of oval form with coils in the centre, decorated in blue, ochre, green and yellow with dotted borders and inscribed 'Cap Howells 3rd Company of the 3rd Battalion Carmarthen Volunteers 1808', the mouthpiece and bowl on either side supported by blue pipework, the bowl with moulded figures picked out in blue, 37cm long (restored)
