  • Provenance: from the estate of Harry Davis. This is an original painted plate produced as a specimen for other artists to follow. Harry Davis created a series of views of British Castles issued as outline etchings coloured in by junior artists. Harry Davis was foreman painter at this time and demonstrated on this painted cabinet plate perfect scenery and sky for young painters to follow.
