Of small size, the borders moulded with C scrolls picked out in gold, one painted with a river meandering towards a distant mountain range, a castle in the middle distance, the other with a castle perched upon a rocky outcrop, 21.5cm diam, impressed NANT-GARW CW (some wear) (2)

  • A similar plate was sold in these rooms on 2 November 2011, lot 255 and one with related decoration on 8 April 2009, lot 310. Topographical decoration is relatively rare on Nantgarw porcelain. Sadly, the London workshop responsible for this high quality work is not known.
