A rare Nantgarw plate, circa 1818-20
Painted in London, probably in the Bradley workshop, the cavetto with a full floral spray including a variegated tulip, cyclamen and rose, the border with five smaller sprigs and a red-breasted bird perched on a branch, reserved on a pale yellow ground, the crisp C scroll moulding picked out in gold, 24.5cm diam, impressed NANT-GARW CW

  • The design of the pattern and the painting style relates to the Brace service and can this be attributed to the Bradley workshop. The yellow border is most unusual.
