A reference collection of nine milk jugs, circa 1785
Of helmet shape, comprising a faceted New Hall jug of pattern 89, 11.2cm, three early Keeling jugs with variations of on a theme of two 'bubblehead' figures flanking a fence, 10-12cm high (cracked), another early Keeling jug with three similar figures at a table, 12.3cm high, another early Keeling jug with a flower and ribbon border, 13.3cm high (chipped), an interesting fluted jug painted with naive sprigs, brown line rim, 12.2cm high, a neatly potted jug with a moulded basketweave band below floral sprigs, 12.4cm high, and an undecorated spirally shanked jug, probably of a later date (9)
