Footnotes

  • The Aster pattern jug is illustrated by Geoffrey Godden, English blue and white porcelain (2004) colour pl.118. The Aster pattern, dating from the experimental phase of production at Caughley, is discussed by John and Sally Wyatt, Caughley Society Newsletter 17, March 2004, pp.15-23. Caughley's version of Mansfield pattern differs from Worcester's in the use of a transfer print. The Fruit Sprays jug in this lot is of most unusual proportions.
