Footnotes

  • A teapot and cover of the same pattern is illustrated by Sheenah Smith, Lowestoft Porcelain in Norwich Castle Museum, Vol 2 (1985), pl.41a, number 325. The service to which it belongs is traditionally said to have been made for the wedding of Hewling Luson Junior in 1777. The same pattern is found on Lowestoft in the form of a blue transfer print, as well as painted in polychrome and in iron red and gold.
