A rare Worcester chocolate cup, circa 1768-70
Of double ogee shape with unusual pierced scroll handles, very finely painted with the 'Chinese Musicians' pattern, with two cartouches of a Chinoiserie lady playing a tambourine and a man playing a triangle, the panels framed with gold scrollwork on a scale blue ground, smaller panels of flower sprigs and fancy birds, the interior decorated with a single gilded flower and a rich scrollwork border, 7cm high, square mark (section of one handle lacking)
