A rare Saintonge, La Chapelle des Pots, green-glazed pottery vessel (Vase trompeur), circa 1600-40
Of cylindrical form moulded with a domed cover fixed by a bracket and applied with two animal spouts/handles to the sides above panels with crown motifs above jewels, applied with low-relief decoration, a crowned fleur-de-lys below three sun-motifs on one side, and a crowned armorial device below the initials 'A.L E.F.I.B' on the reverse, the domed foot with incised decoration, 27cm high (one handle/spout restuck)
