Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, as Mars clad in Roman armour seated on clouds supporting a later oval portrait depicting a prince in armour, a shield and quiver at his feet, to his right Venus holding a posy in her right hand, mounted on an associated base of clouds with a nymph to one side, modelled with gilt-edged scrollwork and reeds on one side, 35cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (the oval portrait a replacement, figure of cupid lacking, some restoration)

Footnotes

For the complete set of the seasons, see U. Pietsch/ C. Banz, Triumph der blauen Schwerter (2010), no. 414.
