A rare Swansea coffee cup and saucer, circa 1815-17
Of bute shape, painted by Henry Morris with a basket of flowers resting upon a garlanded stone ledge, the cup with additional flower sprays flanking the handle, saucer 15cm diam, saucer with upper case mark (slight wear) (2)

  • Provenance: Elis Jenkins Collection, Lord Swansea Collection. The same design of a basket of flowers is also found on the Lysagt service, mostly painted by Henry Morris and probably made during the Bevington period. This cup and saucer is of 'duck egg' porcelain and probably pre-dates Lysagt pieces
