An important Chelsea flute or recorder, circa 1755
Gilt metal mounted and made in two sections, the upper section forming the mouthpiece gilt with a formal design, a puce tied ribbon painted just below, the lower section pierced with two finger holes on one side and a thumb hole to the reverse, within gilded formal borders, bands of stiff leaves in two tones of green visible inside the mounts at the junction of the two pieces, 14cm long (2)
