A fine Birmingham enamel box from the 'Honeysuckle Group', circa 1760-65
Of oval and shallow shape with gilded and tooled mount, the blue ground reserved with a finely painted cartouche with a harbour scene, small cartouches containing miniature scenes to the sides, all edged with raised gilt scrolls, the remaining ground with honeysuckle sprays, also in raised gilding, the inside inscribed 'Voyez et Sovenez' (So come and See), 5.7cm wide (some restoration)
