marked "H.M. Customs & Excise/28 APR. 1912/Custom House...", and addressed to:
P. Keene, Steward, 140 Ruby Rd., Southampton; and stating: "Titanic Inquiry/Take Notice that you are hereby detained/as a witness at the forthcoming Board of Trade/Inquiry concerning the loss of the S.S. Titanic/from the 28/4/12 inclusive." and signed W Woolieen/R.. wreck (?). In a common frame with an "Olympic" "Titanic" postcard.

Footnotes

  • Percy Edward Keene was 28 when he signed-on to the Titanic, on 6 April 1912, he gave his address as 14 Ruby Road, (Southampton). His last ship had been the Oceanic. As a saloon steward he received monthly wages of £3 15s. Keene was rescued in lifeboat 15.
